Yesterday, I was honored to host the 1st Annual Get Ya Color On Event at Evergreen Library. I was joined by friends, family and supporters to celebrate the release of my 1st coloring book entitled Doodled Expressions, as well as launch 'Get Ya' Color On Parties, a service now offered by my company! The end result was ultimately one of the most amazing experiences that I've ever had! Watching people that have given me unconditional support laugh, mingle and enjoy themselves was so special! Being able to witness a room of people be able to relax and partake in a mindful practice that I have spent so many month's creating was by far the most rewarding experience that I've ever had in my entire life. It was a definitive reminder that I'm doing exactly what I was placed on this earth to do!
I could never thank all the people who showed up to support Write Vibez Publishing, enough. We all had a blast & I look forward to doing this each and every year!
Thank you AGAIN to EVERYONE for all the support!
Updates & more information will be published about more public Get Ya' Color On Events Summer 2020. Stay tuned!

In addition to having a great time raising money for the Wichita Literacy cause, I met some amazing people and got the opportunity to read my latest children's book 'Nia's Family Trip Down The Oregon Trail' for story time at Barnes & Noble.
Write Vibez thoroughly supports KANSEL & Wichita Literacy and their efforts to make our community the 'Literacy Capital'. We encourage everyone in our community to get more involved!!

How JD was deemed The Fairy Glam Mother
Back in 2017, I was a new mother who spent most of her time changing diapers, warming bottles and staying in the house. At the time, I was working on my 4th book, and considered staying up past twelve, risky behavior. Like most new mom's, I was having trouble accepting the 'new' me physically, emotionally and psychologically. The baby had changed EVERYTHING and although motherhood was bliss, I would look in the mirror and not recognize the person in my reflection.
The day of my birthday came and my husband suggested that I go get a make over to lift my spirits. Being that I'd never had much experience applying make-up, the idea was intimidating. However, when I strolled in and saw Jessica, we clicked immediately! In less than 30 minutes, she spun me around and revealed the reflection of someone that I'd thought I'd lost. For the first time, in a VERY long time, I could look in the mirror and regain the LOVE for myself. It wasn't just the make-up application (which was flawless) or the bag full of products that I went home with, but it was Jessica's electric, supportive spirit that overall gave me the first steps in regaining my confidence establishing my fork in the world as a woman... not a girl. It was then that she was deemed my Fairy Glam Mother!
It's been year's now since Jessica applied the first brush to my face, and she is my #1 go-to makeup artist. She is always fun and professional and I never walk away from her chair without my confidence on ONE MILLION! I have YET to run across anyone else who has such a creative, one-of-a-kind aesthetic. Throughout the years, Jessica has never stopped being supportive and for that I will ALWAYS be grateful! We inspire and motivate each other, above all, that is why I cherish her friendship!
Special Thanks to Jessica for all of her support ! BOOK HER TODAY!
Hey Vibe Tribe! It’s October and we’ve got some things to share!
Here’s what to expect from this months issue:
Back in 2013 when I was just a fresh, young journalist, I ran a international blog that fostered a women support group that I created by the name of WTLGL (Women Talk... Little Girls Listen Network). I knew at a very young age that I wanted to help people, especially women and built a platform for women of all ages to come and ask questions, express themselves. I quickly gained a following of thousands and it was then that I realized that I had a calling to write. It was because of this group that I gained the confidence to write my next novel. It was also within that group that I found a need to reach out to the community and help those around me.
So, I had the bright idea of starting the PB&J Drive in my city. I was able to gain the sponsorship from WSU TRIO program, The Inn At Tallgrass Leasing office, J. Michaels Hair Salon and Lola's Boutique who allowed me to place boxes at their locations to educate and encourage people in the community about the food drive and it's cause!
The turn out was GREAT! The PB&J food drive ran for 1 week and was a HIT! We had peanut butter coming out of our ears AND successfully collected over 218 jars of peanut butter that I got the honor of hand delivering to the Kansas Food Bank. The impact that it had on the community was amazing and opened my eyes to how powerful it can be when everyone comes together for a cause!

I encourage anyone who lives in the Wichita, KS area to take fifteen minutes out of their day to read a book to help promote children's literacy to read for the FLIP project. I had such a great experience, and hope to read at least one more time to help the FLIP program reach their 120+ goal.
